Restaurant & pub near Newent Onion Fayre
Thought to be Gloucestershire’s largest one-day festival, Newent Onion Fayre is an annual celebration of the onion family, and an autumn showcase offering live music, street stalls brimming with delicious local produce, and plenty of entertainment.
The event’s history can be traced back 800 years to the 13th century, with the modern-day version having been revived in 1996, attracting in excess of 10,000 visitors from the area.
The highlight of the event is an onion-eating competition, where competitors attempt to devour tear-jerking onions in the fastest time. It has to be seen to be believed!
